Native peoples, often referred to as Indigenous or First Peoples, are communities with ancestral ties to particular regions that predate colonial or external societal influences. These groups have retained distinct cultural, linguistic, social, and spiritual practices that reflect their deep connection to their ancestral lands. In this section, we discuss the Status of Native Peoples of Nepal.

Native peoples exist worldwide, with prominent populations in regions like the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Internationally, the rights and recognition of Indigenous peoples have grown in importance, driven by efforts from organizations such as the United Nations through the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), which seeks to protect and honor their heritage and autonomy.
